Meet Some of the Team
Kenneth Richmond, MD, FAPA,
Dr. Richmond is a board-certified psychiatrist with both inpatient and outpatient experience in the treatment and care of mental health disorders.
Dr. Richmond earned his undergraduate degree at Xavier University of Louisiana and his medical degree at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. He completed his residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, where he served as Chief Resident. Realizing early in his medical career that the psychiatric specialty was a natural fit, Dr. Richmond considers it a privilege to help people who are experiencing a mental illness as they work to regain the meaningful aspects of their lives.
Within the specialty of psychiatry, Dr. Richmond is an experienced practitioner providing care for various mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and substance abuse disorders. In his clinical practice, Dr. Richmond finds the opportunity to interact with patients of varying backgrounds, while collaborating with other members of a patient’s care team, extremely rewarding professionally and personally.
Dr. Richmond is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and a member of the American Association of Community Psychiatrists and Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society. He is also affiliated with Available Mental Health Services, LLC in Newport News, an outpatient mental health clinic, and The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place.
A native of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Dr. Richmond has a keen interest in community psychiatry and a passion for providing and promoting valuable mental health services to areas in need.
Dr. Richmond enjoys living in the Hampton Roads area for the proximity to the water, mild climate and the strong military presence and tradition that remind him of his days serving in the United States Air Force.
Dr. Robert Mueller, LCFW, LPC, CSAC
Dr. Douglas J. Muller, PhD, served in the Air Force as a Radar Navigator on a B-52 crew; the Chief of Social Actions whose office was responsible for Drug/Alcohol Education & Treatment and Racial/Sexual Discrimination & Equal Opportunity/Treatment Education; a Squadron Commander; and a Combat Support Commander during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. While in the service he earned a Master of Arts in Correctional Counseling and upon retirement he received his Master’s in Social Work and a PhD in Urban Services/Counseling with a focus on Adult Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD). Dr Muller worked for the Hampton/Newport News Community Services Board as a therapist for the homeless, seriously mentally ill and substance abusing population. He then worked for the military’s mental health/substance abuse insurance program, TRICARE, as a Clinical Care Coordinator. Dr. Muller served as an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Counseling and Psychology Departments at Hampton University while working part time in a private practice that specializes in sexual addictions and sexual related issues. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC).
Robchel Williams, CSAC
Robchel Williams received his Master Degree in Human Services with a concentration in Addiction and Recovery from Liberty University. Robchel’s undergraduate degree is in Criminology/ Criminal Justice from Virginia Union University. He is also a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and Qualified Mental Health Professional. Robchel has been practicing in this field for over 15 years. He believes in a holistic approach in assisting and supporting individuals throughout services. Robchel Williams is a highly motivated, passionate counselor.
